‘Korn’ on the cob

Friday, January 20th, 2012

Two weeks ago, a team of YouTubers I subscribe to put up a video asking for help designing a website. Unfortunately they were missing the key ingredient most people are looking for, cold, hard, cash. I had been in a similar predicament when I wanted to put my stuff out there, and had taken the trouble to teach myself the essentials of coding to make a simple website.  This was my opportunity to bless some strangers, and what better way to start off the year?

Once Luke, one of the two members of UncleKornicob, saw my website he was keen for me to help them out. He wanted a similar simplistic feel to my site, adjusted to UncleKornicob’s style. He sent me some images to work with, including a really cool looking background and off I went.

I don’t think I’ve ever coded a website so quickly. Although I was using code from my website as a base, most of it had to be changed to make the UncleKornicob website work. The reasons why I enjoy making websites, and the reasons why I hate it came flooding in. It’s long work and, although it’s really cool to see the original idea come alive, there are always little problems that take hours to locate and fix which is extremely frustrating.

Yesterday I handed the keys over to the UncleKornicob team, now sporting a Srizzil website of their own. They’re talented young filmmakers and I look forward to seeing what they come up with in the future. Good luck boys.

Social change is coming

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Dear friends, fans and stalkers

Due to the ridiculous amounts of respect and love I have for you I would like to inform you of a few social changes that will be happening with regards to me, Marc Williams, and Srizzil. No, you don’t need to grab any tissues; this is going to be relatively painless.

Because most of the things I do and say and share with you happen on Srizzil, I believe it is time to fully switch over to making Srizzil 100% ‘Marcified’. If you have any sense at all you will have noticed Srizzil has become a lot more personalized, I’ve even plastered my face on every main page background. To complete the ‘Marcification’ I will be removing my twitter connection to my personal Facebook profile and linking it up to the Srizzil fan page.

What does this mean for me?

Well if you don’t like me, nothing. But then why are you reading this? (If you’re my friend on Facebook and feel this way, please remove me you freaky stalker.)

For friends
However if you’re my friend and you do like to hear what I have to say, watch my latest videos, read my blog posts, check out my photography, and listen to my music, then I suggest you ensure you can see all posts from Srizzil. (Basically if for some ridiculous reason you have hidden Srizzil updates – unhide them!)

For fans
It also means that if you’ve liked Srizzil without a second thought, you will suddenly be receiving a lot more from Srizzil in your Facebook feed than before. In which case you can take this opportunity to fall in love with me in a completely friendly non freaky stalker kind of way OR click the evil unlike button and disappear into oblivion. If you choose to do something so utterly horrifying, I can’t be responsible for the horrible repercussions that will come upon you, but I wish you the best of luck.

Why are you doing this?

I’m doing this simply because Srizzil represents me. I want to connect with those that like what I do and would like to see what my future holds. I would like to share the thoughts that my amazing twitter followers hear with those that only have Facebook. If I just accepted every friend request I would be limited to a meager 5000 people. But my goals are set much higher than that.

What essentially sparked this thinking is the fact that many people are fans of Srizzil but have no idea what it is. That’s sick and wrong. So we’re going to spend some time getting to know each other a little better.

If you’ve read this far I commend you for being a true friend, fan or stalker and I love you more than chasing flocks of birds through the park. Now that’s love.
