Twilight Competition Wraps

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Nicole HoskinsCongratulations to Nicole Hoskins (Pictured Left), our brilliant winner of our Twilight giveaway. She successfully invited almost 100 friends and got them to vote for her on our facebook wall. A special thanks to Penguin is in order, for supplying us with the wildly popular series.

The competition ran over two months with the main goal of increasing our facebook fan base. And increase it did. Our fan base rose by more than 200% over the competition period, and continues to grow steadily. Thank-you to all who participated.

Keep an eye out for more competitions and take a look at our Adventure to 10 000 fans. We’re only just beginning. Join us for the ride.

Beta Update 28/07/09

be more youLife moves along at the speed of light as procrastination rules and varsity drags on. Things outside varsity seem not even to show signs of slowing. Seeing friends, Church, Srizzil, Guitar, work, and homework fly around in a disorderly fashion – each begging for more attention.

Of course the usual issues rage on as I continue through my last year as a teenager. One would think these things would slow down at the age of 19 but they seem only to get more intense and more confusing. Trying to find who you are in a world riddled with lies and deception is probably the greatest difficulty in life. I guess that’s why many adults are so lost, they’ve never found themselves.

I will eventually be adding my biography/testimony/life story up on the site for the world to poke through. This will help new Srizzil readers to better understand the context of my writing. However I’m currently moving the enormous amount of articles across from the old website and making a few cosmetic changes to each one. This will hopefully make it easier for Google to find our articles and attract more Srizzilers from across the world.

On the video front I have started a couple of projects, none of which are near completion. It’s great to make videos but I don’t want to upload any old rubbish. There should be a certain element of quality to all the Srizzil videos so rushing out new videos is not my highest priority.

Before I sign off it must be noted that the new Black Eyed Peas album is surprisingly amazing. Make sure you get it. I’m not into club, electronic music at all but the ‘Peas’ are amazingly talented and never seem to stagnate.

Stay tuned to Srizzil, as we learn and grow together. Don’t forget to become a fan on Facebook here: http://www. facebook.com/pages/Srizzil/68684081375 and talk to me. I always have time for our loyal viewers. You can get to me on twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Zoopy or through our contact form. All in the bar at the bottom of this page!

People who say they don’t have time

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

TimeTime is, as we say in economics, a scarce resource. It’s a very interesting resource too. Every single person in the world has exactly the same amount of time built into everyday. We all have to sleep, eat, drink, and a more arguably, get clean. But what makes people, who often seem the least busy, say they don’t have time?

My pet hate is asking somebody to do something and their reply is, “I don’t have time.” “Really,” I think but rarely say. So what about when you watched three hours of television last night and are most likely going to repeat tonight? What about that hour you spent on facebook? What about when you were sitting around all afternoon and doing nothing when school ended? Each individual will have their own additions to this and if you’re honest with yourself you know you are guilty sometimes of doing these things.

“So,” you are probably thinking, “don’t I also need time to relax and enjoy myself?” That’s a brilliant question, thanks for asking. Of course you do, but then don’t lie! When you say, “I don’t have time,” what you are really saying is, “I don’t want to do this for you because I am too lazy and self-centred. In fact I don’t really think you are important enough for me to even tell you the truth.”

Wow, I bet you never thought of that when you said it. To be honest it’s a polite way of saying, push off I’m not interested. Everybody has the same amount of time, and if you really want to do something for somebody you will ensure that – no matter the cost – you will schedule them into your day. The best is when you are relaxing at the beach with friends and they begin to talk about how busy they are and how hectic life is. Hello? You are sitting on the beach. If you were so busy I don’t think you would be here!

Next time you are about to tell somebody you are so busy, think again. There are probably people that are much busier than you. You probably don’t even know what busy means. Think about it, maybe if you spent less time telling people you are so busy you would have more time.
