How to become a jock

Monday, April 11th, 2011

Although most would deny it, becoming a jock is on the top of everybody’s to do list. Most are just too lazy to follow through. If, however, you’ve decided enough is enough, this list of essentials on how to become a jock will help you achieve your goal.

Step 1

Make sure you have a gym contract. Go to the gym once or twice a week and pretend to work out. A little sweat is recommended for full effectiveness. If you are too lazy to work one up, take a walk passed the water fountain and splash some water onto yourself.

Step 2

Catch a tan. Nobody believes a ripped guy is a jock if he’s paler then St Teresa. Go to the beach. This is the perfect spot to show off your jock skills and get a tan. Pull out a ball, and kick it to a jock friend at short distances. This will ensure you don’t do anything stupid like drop the ball. All the girls will be watching, so pull out that perfect smile every now and again.

Step 3

Regardless of how ripped you are, or how few muscles you have, a shirtless Facebook profile picture is essential. Make sure you look completely disinterested in life and stare the camera down. Add in a branded ball for effect. If you really want to go all out, get a jock friend to snap a picture of you playing a sport.

Step 4

Talk regularly about your gyming and sporting exploits. Make sure to emphasise how difficult the activity was and then add that it was a breeze for you. Be careful not to overdo this step as it may cause girls with brains to evacuate faster than an overthrown dictator.

Step 5

Use words like bro, naught, and chick, regularly.

Step 6

If you aren’t keen on being an overweight jock, then exercise will become essential. If you do any form of exercise ensure it is shirtless and that you are wearing branded sportswear.

That’s it. Follow those 6 simple steps and you’re on your way to becoming a jock and scoring the girl. You’re welcome.

Jin: Guide to girls

Friday, November 26th, 2010

My friend from Korea is constantly going on about girls. He comments on the way they talk, the way they dress, what they do, what they don’t do and how to avoid being beaten up by them. Most of the time, the advice is bad. But every now and then he has something intelligent to say.

When Jin wanted to do a video for Srizzil we decided to put his rambling thoughts on girls into a video. His odd tips mixed with his crazy accent makes for some hysterical moments. You may need to watch this one a few times to get the full extent of what he’s saying.

Without further ado, here is a guide to girls by Jin:

How to copy DVDs to your iPod

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

iTunes StoreFor many iPod owners the idea of watching your favourite movies on the go is really appealing. You happily buy your iPod and some DVD’s and then realise it’s not so easy to just move them onto your iPod. You aren’t doing anything illegal; you have a right to watch the movie you bought on your iPod.

Apple has finally realised this and is now very slowly adding iPod versions of movies onto DVDs. This means you just have to pop in the DVD, put in a code, and your movie will be added to your iPod perfectly. But while we wait for that to get into full swing we still want to watch movies on the go. You can buy all these weird and wonderful pieces of software or you can do it all free!

Here is the step by step guide to getting your DVD to your iPod.

1)     Download Handbrake here.

2)     Download DVD43 here.

3)     Put your DVD into the disk drive of your computer. The DVD43 face should be happy once you have done this.

4)     Open Handbrake

5)     Under source, click browse and locate your DVD. Look for the VIDEO_TS folder and click on it. Then click OK. Handbrake will read your disk.

6)     Under the Source Title select the longest time, this is usually the movie.

7)     Under destination put the location you want your iPod ready file to be saved and give the file a name.

8)     Select your iPod from the white box on the right.

9)     Click the video tab and select 2-Pass Encoding

10) Click the start button in the top left hand corner

11) Your movie will now be made. This may take a few hours depending on your computer speed.

12) When your movie is done open it in iTunes. You can do this by right clicking the movie and selecting open with, and then iTunes.

13) Then simply drag your movie into your iPod.

It’s that simple. There are many other options you can play with to adjust the video quality, size and more. You could also use this program to create files that will support other devices like a PSP. Now you can watch your DVDs on the go.
